Catherine Gauldin Architectural Illustration and Fine Art
Fine Art Illustration in Pastel and Colored Pencil including Architectural Art, Equine Images, Landscapes, Still Life, Portraits, Images of Texas and Animals and Wildlife
"A noble life demands a noble architecture for noble uses of noble men," wrote Frank Lloyd Wright. "Lack of culture means what it has always meant; ignoble civilization and therefore imminent downfall."
The Art of the Architectural image should aspire to the same high aspirations as the subject it means to illustrate. and it takes an artist to produce an image of sufficient worth to illuminate the noble art of Architecture.
I chose Architecture as a profession because I love to draw; I also draw what I love. I record what I've experienced and illustrate remnants of the places I've been. I tend to capture the image first as a photograph and then translate it into a very detailed Pastel and Colored Pencil drawing. I don't limit myself in terms of subject matter, though I value the discipline of photography because it forces me to take note of the overlooked details of the environment in which we live.
